In the name of God, the compassionate, the merciful. (Passage omitted: Greetings and praise for the devout people of Najafabad) The population of Najafabad, the town of Najafabad, is more than 280,000 strong. I am told that out of this number, 61,000 are official members of the Basij (voluntary militia). I should like to declare to the world that everyone in Najafabad is a Basiji and that this is the biggest Basij base of the Iranian nation. (Loud cheers and whistles). (Passage omitted: Salutations and religious issues, stressing God's mercy and favors)
Dear ones, in the face of your devoutness, there are people standing on the opposite side of you and the Iranian nation, who have surrendered their hearts to devils and satanic desires; to selfishness, excesses, conceit and arrogance. They cannot attract God's mercy; they cannot render the smallest service to humankind; their existence is a burden, a pain and headache for human-beings. If you study the history of humankind and look at today's history of the world, you will see that all burdens and problems stem from these very same people -- people who have entrusted their hearts to Satan and who have shunned God. Whatever goodness you see in the world is due to the devout and the monotheists, the prophets, the imams and a people who have placed their hearts in the hands of God.Take a look at the world today. The Iranian nation's message to the world is one of purity, worship of the one and only God, the generosity of human-beings, peace, well-being and security for all nations. But on the opposite side, look at what those who have surrendered their hearts to the devil are inviting human-beings to do. All their slogans and invitations are there to establish discord, resentment, the humiliation of nations, the creation of disputes, war, oppression, self-worship and debauchery.
Let us take a look at the behavior of these major powers. Of course, they have covered their true natures with the veneer of human rights, freedom and democracy. But the truth of their actions and message is nothing but the destruction of human rights, freedom and suppression of nations.
Look and see that wherever a dictator rules in the world, he is supported by them; wherever a criminal rules, he is supported by them; wherever there is discord, it is due to them; wherever there is the plunder of a meek nation, it is they who are involved. Look at Palestine, the Palestinians have been under pressure, attack and occupation for 60 years now. They have driven away the Palestinians from their own homes and are killing them in their own homes and at the same time, they chant slogans about human rights.
Of course, dear ones, those who have not surrendered their hearts to God and are not protected by the divine guardianship, will be destroyed and annihilated, in accordance with God's tradition.
Look at the Zionist regime today -- it is struggling, bombarding, yelling, assaulting, but, thanks to the grace of God, it is in the process of downfall and destruction. And it is not capable of preventing this downfall, nor are its powerful allies able to prevent this downfall. Look at the masters of the Zionist regime. They came to Iraq, thinking that through the crimes they commit, they will stamp and stabilize their position in our region; and they imagined that they would then come after us from a position of strength and superiority. But, thanks to God's grace, from the moment they entered, they grew weaker by the day. With every crime they perpetrate, with every ploy and every slogan they chant, they sink deeper in the quagmire they themselves have created. (Indistinct slogan-chanting)
By the grace of God, today, the Zionist regime and its masters are in the weakest position of their lives. Of course, they shout that they might fire bombs, they might bring pressure to bear on the Palestinians and the Lebanese, but this is not a sign of their power. This is a sign of their weakness and anxieties and a sign that they are fast approaching the precipices of downfall and annihilation. You can see how those who have entrusted their hearts to Satan get angry and bothered about any good deeds, any positive actions, any blessings that any nations might receive and any progress they might achieve. You can see how they are angry about the progress of the Iranian people.
Last year, I sent a message to their director-general. I said: Sir, the time has come when you should review your thoughts; what kind of a creature are you that a 70-million-strong nation is happy about its nuclear advance but that you are angry about the happiness of others. There is something wrong here. It is clear that your heart is sick. (Chants of: Nuclear energy is our right)
It is over 28 years now that the Iranian nation is counselling them and it is close to 20 years now, that this advice has become public and has been written down. We wrote them saying: Sir, look around you, what are you doing? From the time that you wake up in the morning, you are after killings, attacks, yells, bad-humor and complaints. For God's sake, what is wrong with you? You should look inside yourselves and review your own thoughts. If a day or night passes and you have not killed anyone in the world, you cannot sleep in peace. What is this situation which you have created for yourselves? Correct yourselves; return to the path of the prophets and obeying God.
Now, on the part of the dear people of Najafabad, I should like to say a few words to them. The invitation of Najafabad's inhabitants is one of peace, fraternity, justice, reason and law. This is the invitation. It is an invitation of rightfulness. You should know that if you do not respond positively to the invitation of rightfulness, the hand of divine power will emerge from the sleeves of nations and will bury you in the dust of abjectness. (Cheers and whistles)
The dear people of Iran and Najafabad care about reason. They do not want an iota more than what is their right and only seek what is their lawful right. But you saw what the inhabitants of Najafabad did during the sacred defense (Iran-Iraq war); you should know that this people will not give in to an inch to what they consider is their right. (Cheers)
Can you recall the time when this very deputy gentleman, who moves around a lot in this region and wants to create sedition, stands in front of his own people, ranting and bragging. There was a saying in the past and I don't know if it is still quoted in Najafabad -- they say that such and such a person arrived in his own domain and became a lion but outside his own domain, he was a mouse. Now, he has gone to his domain and has become a lion. He comes and tours the nations of the region but does not dare to speak. Then he stands in front of his own people, saying we will do this and that. This same gentleman, at the time of the imposed war, issued the orders for Iran's cities to be bombed and attacked by missiles. At that time, he said: We want to uproot the Iranian nation.
I now want to tell him: Take a look; there was a day when you were attacking these cities; take another look at this arena, it is these proud inhabitants of Najafabad who are standing tall and steadfast as cypresses. Iran is the homeland of brave, lionhearted men and women. (More cheers). The Iranian nation speaks with a simplicity which is understood by the entire world. I tell you, look at this people; anyone who sees this people will say the same thing.
Major powers should know that anyone who falls out with this nation will be overthrown. Now, we are saying these with reference to what happens next because, with thanks to God, the nuclear issue is beyond the kinds of talks that they should want to get together, draw up a plan, do something and stop the Iranian nation.
At the time when they possessed 10 times more power than now and were united, they could not really do anything, thanks to God. Now that they are weak and when the strength of the Iranian people is 10 times more than those times, then, quite definitely, the holy words we have to say and which stand before the eyes of the world is that they cannot do a damn thing. (Cheers and whistles)
They say that they will impose sanctions against us. Well, they have been doing this for the past 28 years. These young people, these war-disabled, these martyrs, these inhabitants of , Najafabad, at the time when their enemies were armed to the teeth with advanced weapons, stood in the face of these enemies with empty hands but were armed with their faith and initiatives and managed to rub the enemy's nose in the dust. It is these young people that have turned Iran nuclear, today. You want to impose sanctions, very well, it is these very young people who will build Iran and place it on the peak of the world's progress. (Cheers)
